Motor Museum

Welcome to West Coast Motor Museum

We are an automobile museum that showcases exclusive collections of cars that go far in time. Established in 1987, we have grown in leaps and bounds since we started; we showcase more than 50 vehicles from 1915.

At West Coast Motor Museum, there is also a collection of speed cars impressive by all standards. You will find several speed cars here, including the Claremont Speedway from the 1950s and 60s.

West Coast Motor Museum is also home to a machine shop and workshop where all maintenance and restoration work on the vehicles can be managed on-site with all the necessary supervision from our team.

The museum aims to preserve and restore all these vintage vehicles to benefit motor enthusiasts and future generations. For us, we seek to preserve the motoring history of Western Australia for those coming later to rediscover.

Plan Your Visit

If you plan to visit the museum, it is located at 227 Woodlands Parade Mandurah in Western Australia. Getting around in the town and finding the museum is relatively easy no matter where you are coming from. Mandurah itself is the second biggest city in the state with only about 62 kilometres away from Perth.  If you are planning to visit, you should make enquiries first. This is because the museum is only open on an appointment, and you have to make plans for your arrival before you even show up. The nature of the museum is the sole reason the museum is not exclusively open to the public at all times. Mandurah is a coastal city, and this museum doesn’t just reflect the evolution of that automobile industry over time. It also gives clear glimpses into how much has changed.

Exhibits

The showcases here are stunning in many ways. There are several exhibits available, and most times, it is just about what you want to see because you may not see everything.

Racing Cars

If you are into vintage racing and want to walk down the memory lane, you check out different types of racing cars. Then you should visit this museum. It contains some iconic vintage cars that were used for racing, including regular cars converted into hot rods. These cars date back as far as the 1930s.

Vintage Classics

Vintage cars are fantastic in many respects. They are a masterpiece in terms of design, given that many were handmade, especially in terms of the chassis. But these cars are also much more; their engines, produced way before emissions and climate change became a serious issue that car manufacturers too had to consider, are excellent in innumerable ways.

Get Involved

West Coast Motor Museum is primarily a non-profit organisation that runs on a limited budget and with volunteers’ help.
